Molnija Pocket Watch - Lenin USSR Emblem

A wonderful 15 jewel manual wind mechanical watch that shows a picture of Lenin on the front of the case with his name beneath. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (in Russian Влади́мир Ильи́ч Ле́нин ), original surname Ulyanov (Улья́нов) was born on April 22nd 1870 and died on January 21^st 1924. He was a revolutionary of Russia, the leader of the Bolshevik party, the first Premier of the Soviet Union, and the main theorist of Leninism, which he described as an adaptation of Marxism to "the age of imperialism". He is sometimes referred to as "Nikolai Lenin" by Western anti-Communists and by the reporters of his time.

On the back of the of the case is the Emblem of USSR. The State Emblem of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is a hammer and sickle on a globe depicted in the rays of the sun and framed by ears of wheat, with the inscription "Workers of All Countries, Unite!" (though not shown on the watch) in the languages of the Union Republics. At the top of the Emblem is a five-pointed star. The watch face is white with a seperate second dial and roman numeral markings in black with seconds in red. A nice touch is the addition of a red Hammer & Sickle Soviet emblem at the 12 o'clock position.
