This is the Komandirskie Military Watch literally translated as the Commanders Watch. This one differs from the standard Komandirskie Military Watch in that is has an octagonal case and off-set winding mechanism that is typical of another model known as the Generalskie or Generals watch.
This particular model would have been worn or awarded to high ranking officers of the Artillery Division. The black face depicts a Russian Military BM-22 URAGAN MRL. The 220-mm BM-22 Uragan or Hurricane as translated into English, was a 16 round MRL, introduced into service in 1977 and is sometimes referred to in the West as the M1977. The industrial designation for the BM-22 system is 9K57 and is mounted on a modified ZIL-135 (8 x 8) cross-country truck chassis designated the BAZ-135LM (industrial designation 9P140) which is fitted with a central tire pressure regulation system and has steering on the front and rear axles. Before the rockets are launched two stabilizers are lowered at the rear of the vehicle, one either side.
The watch dial is blue with chrome plated hands, bezel & case. It also depicts the Soviet Artillery Emblem of two crossed cannons with linked oak leaf surround. It has an unusual addition of a missile in the centre, greyed out like the picture of the mobile Multiplke Rocket Launcher platform itself. The strap is made from high quality leather and is trimmed with cream on the inside and black on the outside.
